Line array systems are the most expensive used purchase most buyers make, and the hardest to inspect from a distance. This checklist covers what to ask for before money moves.

Rigging hardware

Bumpers, pins and shackle points carry the load, so inspect them first. Ask for close-up photos of every rigging point and any sign of deformation or repair.

Driver condition

Request a photo of each driver with the grille removed, plus an impedance reading. Consistency across the array matters more than any single driver looking perfect.

Replacement units matter too. If a driver is beyond saving, confirm that a matching unit such as the Homewell BX18 is still available before you commit to the array.

Amplifier and presets

If the array ships with matched amplifiers and presets, confirm the presets exist and the amplifier channels test clean. Losing the original presets turns a tuned array into a project.

Ask for a test, not a promise

On any used system, request evidence of a power-on and signal test. That single request filters out most of the risk before you commit.
